Fine art limited edition print (only 50 printed) of an original textile collage by Fiona Pitkin in ombre grey shades, contrasted with pale green and blues.
The print is part of a new collection (Celestia) of textile collages that draw on the shifting colours of Scottish skies and the quiet geometry of distant planets.
Only 50 will be made in each size of print or print and framed versions.
Each hand-painted fragment of velvet or silk organza collected as offcuts from my cushions and scarves, becomes a small world of its own, layered to suggest horizons, orbits, and changing light.
I experiment with layering, subtle colour shifts, and textures - sometimes pressing for shine, fraying edges, or breaking down the fabric’s preciousness. The work ultimately captures the movement of weather and the sense of space beyond, turning collected remnants into landscapes and galaxies of colour. I am continually pushing the possibilities of velvet and reimagining it as both artwork and functional textiles for interiors.
This limited edition Giclee print is printed on professional art paper with a light gloss finish, using a very highly calibrated and fine resolution inkjet printer. It has a silky smooth reflective coating that enhances the detail, colour and definition of the image. Weight 310gsm.
Prints are carbon neutral with fast and reliable delivery at checkout. It is signed (digitally) on the front. All frames are 25mm in depth and 16mm wide. The hanging type fixture is ‘Nail hanging’. Made from FSC certified wood from sustainably managed forests.
Delivered directly from Brooklyn, USA, London or Germany, depending on your location in sustainable biodegradable packaging made from recycled materials, with protective sleeve, backing board and hard envelope or tube. Customers will receive a tracking link, once the order is on it's way.
